Grant Award
IAATE Conservation Grants are awarded to facilitate travel to conservation projects, develop education programs, fund websites and more. The winners will be announced at the Banquet. Attendance at the conference is not a requirement. Videotapes, pictures, papers, etc., can be included with entry/application.

The Conservation Award is intended to recognize IAATE members' efforts to promote conservation. Entries can be creative, inspiring, humorous, etc. Examples include participating in research projects, a behavior or a routine in your show, a fund-raiser, etc. The possibilities are endless. The winner will receive a plaque to display at his or her facility. In addition, a donation of $500 will be made in the winner's name to the conservation organization of his or her choice. (The donation can be made to the winner's own facility with the stipulation that the funds are utilized to support conservation efforts made by that facility. The winners will be announced at the Banquet. Attendance at the conference is not a requirement. Videotapes, pictures, papers, etc., can be included with entry/application.

Annual Awards
Show Behavior of the Year Husbandry Behavior of the Year
This award recognizes what the IAATE Awards committee thinks is the best bird behavior incorporated into a show since the last conference. The bird behavior can also be incorporated into pre-show and post-show activities. The behavior must be safe for the bird and any trainers or guests involved with the behavior. The Awards committee must view your bird behavior so please bring a video tape (preferrably VHS) or a CD or DVD of the behavior to the conference. The winning behavior will be played at the conference banquet. If you cannot make it to the conference you may mail the tape, CD, or DVD.

Interpretive Award High Flyer Award
This award recognizes the educational value of a bird behavior, bird exhibit or piece of script incorporated into a show that uniquely describes anything relating to birds (ie. bird eggs, feathers, bird beaks, etc.). For example, an organization devised a way to show children how strong a chicken egg shell is. During their presentation children were able to pile rocks into a box that was supported by a chicken egg. Please bring a video tape, CD, DVD, pictures or write-up of your entry to the conference. If you cannot make it to the conference you may mail the tape, CD, or DVD.

This award will be given to the paper that the conference attendees vote as the best. All conference attendees get to vote on their favorite paper; so to have a chance at winning this award all you have to do is present a paper. All presenters for the conference have their papers automatically entered for the High Flyer Award. Note that only papers submitted by the submission deadline are eligible.

Enrichment Award  
The IAATE Enrichment Idea of the Year recognizes the person who has the most unique idea for enriching birds. The award is given to the recipient during the annual conference banquet. The idea can be for a specific species. The idea can be used by many species. Please send or e-mail your entry idea, using the proper form, to Jeff Meshach, director of Animal Management, World Bird Sanctuary, 125 Bald Eagle Ridge Rd., Valley Park, MO, 63088, USA. Your idea must be submitted by 15 January 2008 to be eligible for the award.
