Stick with triple beam Ohaus scales. I have three for the birds (eBay purchases). ALL three have the extra ‘tare’ bar. Two are dial-a-gram for the kestrels. Make sure you have the ‘tare’ bar in the front as well. Mine travel in a 20 inch Plano tool box. I set the scales on top the tool box held down with a bungee cord. There is no ‘perch’ only an astroturf (stadium) on on the round weighing plate. The travel easily this way too. My birds fly down to them for weighing enticed with a piece of hawk food on top.
