Walt Crawford Memorial Scholarship

IAATE will award Walter Crawford Memorial Conference Scholarship (WCM) funds to eligible IAATE members. Funding for this scholarship is raised from the workshops put on at previous annual conferences. This scholarship fund is limited and will be awarded to only applicants who meet eligibility requirements below. The recipient(s) of this scholarship will be determined by collaboration between the IAATE Executive Board and the IAATE Professional Development Committee Chair(s).

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for consideration, those applying for the WCM Scholarship:

  • Must be a current IAATE member in good standing
  • Must not have received WCM Scholarship funding within the last five (5) years
  • Must complete and submit the application by September 1st of the year preceding the conference you wish to attend
  • Must submit the application on Google Forms and follow the application guidelines as listed below

Applications that do not follow the guidelines may not be considered for the WCM Scholarship.

Provisions

  • Funds from the IAATE Scholarship may only be used by a single applicant toward registration and travel costs for the immediately upcoming IAATE Annual Conference
  • The scholarship is non-transferable and has no redeemable cash value.
  • Applicants are responsible for ensuring they have the support of their facility when applying.
  • Applicants can put their application in their native language if desired.
  • It is possible to nominate an applicant other than yourself, with the permission and prior knowledge of that applicant.
  • Scholarship funds are not offered in advance. Costs will be reimbursed with receipts submitted to CFO within 5 days post-conference.
  • The goal of this scholarship is meant to relieve financial burdens associated with attending the IAATE Conference. If this process does not work for you, please reach out to Professional Development Committee Chairs Amy Fennell and Ari Bailey
  • Scholarship funding can only be applied to the following:
    • Registration (full coverage)
    • Workshops and Pre-Conference Workshop (full coverage)
    • Travel to and from the conference (Up to $500 for recipients in the USA, $600 for Canada, $700 for Central America, and $1000 for International/South America.
    • Hotel room at the IAATE rate for 4 nights, or 5 nights if you are attending the pre-conference workshop (half coverage—assumes dual occupancy)
    • Note: Scholarship funding is not available for the Night Out, the Pre-Conference Trip, or any non-included meals.

Scholarship funding is limited, please be thoughtful in your expenditures. The less you require, the more scholarships IAATE can fund.

Award Determination

  • Applications will be reviewed by the IAATE Executive Board of Directors and the Chair(s) of the Professional Development Committee.
  • Successful recipients will be notified by IAATE’s Professional Development Committee by October 1st of the year before the conference you wish to attend.
