2024 IAATE ANNUAL CONFERENCE
EUGENE 2024: RAPTOR REVOLUTION
February 14-17
Eugene, Oregon, USA
Hosted by Cascades Raptor Center
For the first time since 2018, IAATE is returning to the West Coast. Join us in the beautiful Pacific Northwest for our 32nd annual IAATE conference.
Our 2024 conference is hosted by Cascades Raptor Center – a wildlife hospital, nature center, and home to thirty ambassador raptors – and held at the Graduate Hotel in downtown Eugene, which boasts a bustling restaurant scene, abundant local breweries and wineries, and lots of local flavor. Eugene is located just West of the Cascades Mountains and an hour inland from Oregon’s Pacific Coast, in the beautiful Willamette Valley. Intrepid attendees in search of a day trip may find themselves at a nearby winery or wildlife area enjoying the scenery. In winter, the Valley is rich with migratory birds including raptors, waterfowl, songbirds, and more. Pack your raincoat, your hiking boots, and your sense of adventure and join us February 14-18, 2024!
More details about our 2024 conference will go live in August. In the meantime, SAVE THE DATE, and make sure you plan in advance to take advantage of our grants, scholarships, contests, and showcase!

Are you interested in presenting at our 2024 conference? New this year, we are offering half-hour as well as a limited number of extended full-hour openings for presentation. As a change from past years, we are eliminating the Q&A portion of presentations in order to give speakers more time to share their knowledge, expertise, and experience during their presentation and encouraging questions and further exploration during our evening networking opportunities.
The IAATE Behavior Showcase this year is a special one, and something we can ALL consider participating in! We are soliciting only videos of voluntary crate behaviors this year for what we hope will be a “Crate-a-Palooza” showcase featuring many, many members and facilities showing off voluntary crate behaviors with many, many individual birds of all species! Let’s celebrate our individual and collective successes in teaching our avian learners this extremely important foundation behavior for improving care and welfare. Haven’t taught a voluntary crate behavior yet? What are you waiting for? Start today and share your success in our 2024 Behavior Showcase!
Crate-a-Palooza – our 2024 Behavior Showcase – will be shown during the opening of the conference for all attendees. IAATE will be sharing the videos on social media and our website after the conference in hopes of inspiring future trainers by showing just what is possible, with any and every bird of any and every species, so please share materials that are approved by your organization for social media. Please follow submission guidelines found HERE.
