Hey there, my name is Eddie and I’ve been at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden as a bird trainer at the bird show since 2003 and am now the bird show manager. I get to play a fun character in the summer show that brings a silly energy to the show to compliment the education and conservation messaging we bring. In the colder months I share how amazing our ambassadors are doing outreach programs and small scale programs at the zoo. Our collection includes raptors, parrots, hornbills, pigeons and rats.
I have been a member of IAATE since 2004. I vividly remember my first Ice breaker at the top of the CN Tower in Toronto and my boss, Gary Denzler, graciously introducing me to a room full of people I would come to know well as colleagues and friends. I’ve always enjoyed the fun, open and sharing nature of IAATE and hope to continue to embrace bird training enthusiasts of all walks of life. As the president elect, I hope to continue to clear the culture fog surrounding our industry and act as a beacon to improve the welfare of birds one trainer and one institution at a time.
