Holly Cale; Curator and Aviculturist, Horstmann Vulture Conservation Trust, Wales UK.
Holly began her career with birds after graduating with BSc Hons in Zoology in 2008, working at the International Centre for Birds of Prey (Gloucestershire, UK) training birds and running educational free flight displays. In 2013 she took over as Curator and Aviculturist, focusing on health and welfare of the collection, rehabilitating injured wild raptors and managing an extensive breeding program from African pygmy falcons to Andean condors, whilst still playing an active role in behaviour and training.
Holly is now the Curator and Aviculturist at the Horstmann Vulture Conservation Trust, a specialist vulture breeding Centre based in South Wales breeding vultures for release and sustainable captive populations, coordinating the EAZA EEP for hooded vultures and collaborating with conservation partners Internationally. Holly teaches artificial incubation techniques and has consulted with breeding programs in Europe, Africa and Asia providing 24-hour support to aviculturists to increase their successes. She also maintains a number of trained and flown birds as ambassadors and privately.
