Fly into Birmingham International Airport and make your way to Drayton Manor Hotel (approx. 30 minutes by car) by the evening of September 22.

September 23 and 25: Paper Days.
September 24: Zoo Day including workshops at WILD Zoological Park – meet in the hotel lobby for the coach at 8:45 AM.
Presenters
We welcome talks from a variety of presenters on topics including behavior and training, health, welfare, enrichment and aviary design, and more! Please get in touch if you have any questions.
If you would like to present a 30-minute talk, please submit your abstract HERE.
The deadline for abstract submission is May 15, 2025. You will be contacted by May 30 if your submission has been selected.
Hotel
We have secured discounted rates of £100 per night B&B for single occupancy or £120 per night B&B for double occupancy. You can book your room directly with the hotel by calling 01827 255993. You may also reserve your hotel room via this online link. The hotel is holding a block of rooms for us until August 22, 2025, so please ensure you book in good time.
Registration
Once again we are trying to keep costs as low as possible for delegates – and have set the following rates for registration.
Members: £195pp
Non-members: £275pp
Presenters receive a 50% discount. (If more than one person is presenting the discount is only available to one presenter).
Registration costs include three full days (including lunches) and dinner on Thursday night.
Workshops: Backpack Fitting, Telemetry, and Egg Repair & Practical Incubation Techniques will be reserved on a first come first served basis, with a maximum of 20 places in each workshop. These are priced at £20pp. Workshops run concurrently so only one workshop can be selected per delegate.

Walt Crawford International Scholarship
This year for the first time we are offering financial support for attending the symposium for some lucky recipients of this grant. Applications must be submitted by May 1, 2025. Application form coming soon. See below for the eligibility requirements and submit your application.
New UK visa requirements
From summer 2025, all visitors from the US and Europe will require an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) to visit the UK. More information can be found here: Apply for an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) – GOV.UK The cost is £10 and it lasts for two years.



WALT CRAWFORD SCHOLARSHIP
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for consideration, those applying for the WCM Scholarship:
- Must be a current IAATE member in good standing
- Must not have received WCM International Symposium Scholarship funding within the last five (5) years.
- Must complete and submit the application by May 1 of the year of the symposium you wish to attend.
- Must submit the application on Google Forms and follow the application guidelines as listed below.
Applications that do not follow the guidelines may not be considered for the WCM Scholarship.

- We recommend you select the option to email a copy of the form to yourself. If you do not receive confirmation of receipt from the PDC within 48 hours of submission, please follow up by contacting Professional Development Committee Chairs Amy Fennell and Ari Bailey.
Provisions
- Funds from the IAATE Scholarship may only be used by a single applicant toward registration and travel costs for the immediately upcoming IAATE International Symposium.
- The scholarship is non-transferable and has no redeemable cash value.
- Applicants are responsible for ensuring they have the support of their facility when applying.
- Applicants can put their application in their native language if desired.
- It is possible to nominate an applicant other than yourself, with the permission and prior knowledge of that applicant.
- Scholarship funds are not offered in advance. Costs will be reimbursed with receipts submitted to CFO no later than two weeks post-symposium.
- The goal of this scholarship is to relieve the financial burden associated with attending the IAATE International Symposium. If this process does not work for you, please reach out to Professional Development Committee Chairs Amy Fennell and Ari Bailey.
Scholarship funding can only be applied to the following:
- Registration (full coverage).
- Workshops (full coverage).
- Travel to and from the symposium (Up to $150 for travel within the UK and up to $500 for recipients traveling from mainland Europe).
- Hotel room at the IAATE rate for 4 nights (half coverage—assumes dual occupancy),
- Note: Scholarship funding is not available for meals and other expenses not included in full-registration.
Scholarship funding is limited, please be thoughtful in your expenditures. The less you require, the more scholarships IAATE can fund.
Award Determination
- Applications will be reviewed by the IAATE Executive Board of Directors, International Board member, and the Chair(s) of the Professional Development Committee.
- Successful recipients will be notified by IAATE’s Professional Development Committee by June 1 of the year of the symposium you wish to attend.
Terms and Conditions
Travel within the UK can include internal flights, trains, taxis from public transport locations to the hotel and milage. Mileage reimbursement will be paid at 45 pence per mile from your address as registered with your application to the symposium location and return journey up to the value of $150.
